On the eve of the winter holidays, two well-known brands that have consistently woven traditional Ukrainian culture into a modern context for many years have joined forces to showcase the beauty of the Christmas table. The collaboration between EmbroideredGem and SHO restaurant resulted in a festive collection of clothing and home textiles, as well as a menu of exquisite Ukrainian dishes.

Designer Natalia Kyrychenko was inspired to create the “Krolevets” collection by traditional Krolevets towels, which have been a symbol of the Sivershchyna region for centuries, the native region of the EmbroideredGem brand. These towels are characterized by a combination of white and red colors and rich ornamentation.

On Krolevets towels, you can see rhombuses, rectangles, zigzags, crosses, octagonal stars, and a family tree symbolically depicted on towels as a three-pointed candlestick.

"These are incredibly beautiful embroideries with a rich history. On the eve of the fabulous holiday of Christmas, I wanted to bring them back to the homes of modern Ukrainians," says designer Natalia Kyrychenko.

Ms. Natalia transferred the Krolevets "codes" to tablecloths, towels, and napkins. In addition, iconic embroidery elements adorn men's and women's shirts.

For the festively decorated table, the Kyiv restaurant SHO has prepared a special Christmas menu: baked duck, stuffed carp, pies and kutya according to an old recipe, and other dishes.
