Winch: EMBR brand dedicated a new collection to noble Ukrainian women
A combination of ethnic and European fashion
The modern ethnic clothing brand EMBR has presented its winter collection "Lebidki", dedicated to women from the Ukrainian aristocratic families of Kosach, Dragomanov, Kobylyansky and Krushelnytsky. The minimalist capsule, the color palette of which varies from black and white to milk and chocolate, combines traditional ethnic ornaments with modern silhouettes. Also, for the first time in its history, the brand, specializing in working with linen, used wool and cotton.

The name "Lebidka" refers to a generalized designation for young ladies from the highest circles of society, which was popular in Europe and the USA at the beginning of the last century.
“I spent the last few months studying the biographies of Ukrainian women who lived and worked at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. I was interested in their lifestyle and the corresponding wardrobe. It all started with Olena Pchilka and Lesya Ukrainka — two prominent representatives of the Kosach dynasty. Then I saw family portraits of the Dragomanovs, photographs of Izydora Kosach, Olga Kobylyanska, Solomiya Krushelnytska… These women glorified our culture, wore traditional Ukrainian dress, but at the same time they were part of the pan-European space: they traveled the world, subscribed to fashion magazines from Vienna, ordered exquisite dresses in Paris and hats in Budapest, bought jewelry in Prague and Bucharest. In the new EMBR collection, I wanted to combine these two stories,” says the brand’s designer, Ms. Natalia.
